Re: Navarro 8ba Heads

Offy still does all of the finish work and final machining by hand in CA. I’d assume the higher cost is associated with the higher labor to finish their products.

Re: Navarro 8ba Heads

I will say, and I don't have any dyno info to back it up, the Cyclones I took over ran better. Just seat of the pants and to my ear, the throttle crack was sharper and crisper.

I may put them...

Not sure about Offy, but I know for certain new Edelbrock's take 3/4" plugs. I have a set on my car now.

Re: Navarro 8ba Heads

It shouldn't be "hanging out" but it also shouldn't be tuck deep inside the threads of the head. If they are off the engine, you can get spark plug spacers to help you select the correct one so you...

If you don't currently, do daily puzzles. The New York Times has free ones you can get on an app on your phone. For some, you really need think about it to solve or not (on bad days). Keeping the...

Re: 59ab 80 over cam bearing

Funny you say that, someone on Ebay is selling a master lobe for an Isky 505 cam. I believe Dale H. (Bored & Stroked) has one that Isky ground for him. Would need this type of block for that cam...

Re: 35-36 Ford Rear Shocks Test for Rebuildable?

From what I gather, what you have or if they are wobbling very loosely, they are scrap.

A bit late, but well said by all. God Bless America and all the brave men and women who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Re: I found a early Bill Weiand intake

Just an FYI, it's Phil Weiand and that intake was cast pre-war around 1939.

Re: 38 Ford Woodie - one of the twins for sale

Beautiful cars. As time goes on, I've become quite fond of the nose on a '38.

Re: galled left rear axle spindle. repair? replace? buy used or aftermarket?

I would not go the grafting route. Too crucial of a part to ever have fail while driving.

First thing you need to do is determine exactly which axle you have. Some axles are the same length,...

Re: Gray oil

If it helps put your mind at ease, this is what my oil looks like with 10 miles put on it after an oil change. I use Valoline VR 20W-50 and no filter.

Re: Ship a fender Maine to Cal

If you use Pirate Ship, be legit on the weight and size of box. If not, when it goes through the system, they will catch it and charge you the additional overage.

My buddy use to be a Snap On...

Re: Curved vent/oil fill tube for 59AB

V8 60 is too small diameter. I have one. I think the V8-60 is like 1" or 1.25" OD and the V8 is 1.75" or maybe 2". I forget from memory.

My vote is muffler shop. This way you can make it the...

Re: Curved vent/oil fill tube for 59AB

A couple of options:

I had a local muffler shop make me one and I flared the top. Cost about $20.

Find a Lincoln Zephyr V12 vent/oil fill. I forget which year, but these were bent forward...

Re: Ship a fender Maine to Cal

If you create an account with FedEx, easy to do, and are able to ship the item to a business address, you'll find the shipping will drop significantly when using them. Their prices are high to...

Re: Ship a fender Maine to Cal

I would definitely box it and purchase the insurance. If you choose UPS as one of the options given, just drop it off at a local UPS store. I have yet to have an issue using Pirate Ship and normal...
