Are the inside nuts welded or attached to the inside ring or is the ring threaded? Once I take of the outside plate off I don't want loose nuts/bolts in the pan.

I plan to remove the clean out plate/cover when I change the oil and not remove the pan. Can I do this from under the truck?

Before I take off the clean out round plate on the oil pan, is there a gasket there? It looks like it but can't tell if it's copper or felt. What am I getting into? Any tricks/

As a followup to my last post. I thought you'd want to know the rest of the story. As Ken suggested I took out the float and sure enough it was 80% full. I don't know how it got in there but needless...

Yesterday, starting out on a nice day run, the truck bucked and quit. When I opened the hood gas was running out of the bottom of the carb. I start the truck with an electric pump and then shut it...

I have a 51 F1 with the clean out plate in the bottom of the pan. Where can I get a new gasket or gasket material? Any helpful hints would be welcome! Thanks!

I got harness at Dennis Carpenters. I also bought an alternator that looks like a generator from Speedway. It's a 12 v and is made by Powermaster.

Gauges run backwards

I changed my 51 F1 from 6v to 12v, negative ground, with a one wire alternator and my gauges read backwards. What did I do wrong?

If you've had backfiring, you'll probably have to replace the power valves in the carbs.
It happened to me.
