Re: F1 Oil Pan on a 51
Are the inside nuts welded or attached to the inside ring or is the ring threaded? Once I take of the outside plate off I don't want loose nuts/bolts in the pan.
Thanks!

Re: F1 Oil Pan on a 51
I plan to remove the clean out plate/cover when I change the oil and not remove the pan. Can I do this from under the truck?
Thanks,

F1 Oil Pan on a 51
Before I take off the clean out round plate on the oil pan, is there a gasket there? It looks like it but can't tell if it's copper or felt. What am I getting into? Any tricks/
Thanks,
Stu

It was a mild day here in charlotte. About 60.

Carb. Gas Leak
Yesterday, starting out on a nice day run, the truck bucked and quit. When I opened the hood gas was running out of the bottom of the carb. I start the truck with an electric pump and then shut it...

Re: Generator vs. alternator
I got harness at Dennis Carpenters. I also bought an alternator that looks like a generator from Speedway. It's a 12 v and is made by Powermaster.

I changed my 51 F1 from 6v to 12v, negative ground, with a one wire alternator and my gauges read backwards. What did I do wrong?

If you've had backfiring, you'll probably have to replace the power valves in the carbs.
It happened to me.
