I’m using theses LED bulbs in my 40. Got them from Amazon. Paint the inside of the buckets white, make sure you have clean connections at the connections and good grounds .

I’ve done that many times. Take just enough off the front side of the shaft then install a 3/4” plug like goes in the pan rail of the block with a dab of RTV.

I’d unbolt the rear axle and remove the floor board over the transmission. Once the torque tube is unbolted from the transmission and the rear axle is unbolted you can slide the rear axle back far...

Originally there was a fitting placed in the upper radiator hose . But if you’re not worried about what’s correct then use the later pump with the port for the temp gauge.

What oil pump do you have in there ? With the engines with a slinger at the rear I like a stock pump and a rather tight clearance on the rear main crankshaft journal.

Remove the drivers side axle housing and the passenger side hub and drum along with the key and the whole unit with the differential , ring gear and axels will slide out.

Keep in mind that armature threads are a little different than regular threads. I have a set of special armature dies.
