Measure the resistance of the primary winding of the coil, aprox 1.5 ohms would be a 6 volt coil, aprox 3 ohms would be a 12 volt coil.

When the bearing starts to spin there is no load on it, when you "press the pedal further and the noise starts" the bearing is under load. That tells me the bearing is at fault.

Use gaskets that are slightly soft, not too soft and not rock hard.

Not all pipe threads are tapered, NPT is tapered and NPS is straight. Typically, pipe threads are NPT (tapered), but one has to be careful.

Just set the timing the Ford way, simple and easy, no special tool(s) needed. Been doing it that way for well over 60 years and never had a problem. No need to waste time watching videos.

You might try a hub puller, they're not made for this purpose, but might work.
If you try one, rotate the assembly while pulling.

If the whole distributor is wobbling, I would suspect that either the distributor body or the opening in the head are worn, or both.
