Nobody mentioned that grease or other contaminants on the linings or drum can cause this to happen, especially when first using the brakes.

It must have a bent or stuck shaft. It shouldn't be an expensive fix.

Yes, with a crack things can move, but not enough to disengage the disk.

The throwout bearing most likely is the type that will not take grease and the fitting is only there to lube the bearing collar. Why not leave it as is and just give it a few drops of heavy oil now...

So the AA has a grease seal somewhere? It still looks (in photo) like the bearing is outside the baffle, and could still sling grease onto the brake lining. My model a doesn't have any grease seal in...

What I don't see in the photo is any baffle around the bearing, or is it part of the hub?

I believe the drawing is the correct application. On Bob C's photo, how does the baffle even function? It is inside of the slinging grease from the bearing.
