Re: 36 transmission mount question
Will, Thanx. It just does not seem right. My head is probably getting in the way. Do you think it would matter if I installed it the way I have indicated? I do not know the part # of the flat plates.

Re: KRW hub puller question
I realize that the Ford axle is "harder than the hubs of hell" as an old mechanic once told me. However. I have a short hard pin that I insert into the cotter pin hole just for insurance that no...

Re: KRW hub puller question
That is exactly what I have. Now I am wondering if KRW was the original and had a threaded axle cover. Possibly the Winfield is the reproduction??

Re: KRW hub puller question
The directions for the puller say: Place thread protecting cap on axle. It does not mention to screw it on. I am wondering if different years of manufacture were different. V8fordman said he has had...

KRW hub puller question
My KRW puller part that slips over the axle threads has no threads. It just slips over the end of the axle threads per the directions. A fellow member sent me a picture of the corresponding part from...

I am looking for the CR or National seal # for the front bearing retainer for the 1939 3 speed transmission. My old seal just says FORD. Thanx in advance!

Re: 39 synchronizer question
I just disassembled the transmission. Lo and behold all of the pieces, 3 balls, 3 springs, and 3 plates were in the bottom of the case. The only reason I can see is that whosoever assembled it at...

Re: 39 synchronizer question
I just sent Mac a PM. The transmission has been sitting for many years so I do not really know the history. The outside was very dirty so I do not believe it had been apart for many years. The...

Re: 39 synchronizer question
No bars, springs or balls. Nothing laying in the bottom of the case. All very clean. The only wear is on the tips of low gear on the mainshaft.

39 synchronizer question
I opened up a 39 3 speed this morning. All looked nice--except- the synchronizer did not have any springs or detent bars. Must be something I do not understand here.

Re: Tolerance-Ford aluminum heads
I don't think I asked the question properly. Overhead valve heads are quite thick and I don't think one would want them to be more than a couple thousands from being perfectly flat at the gasket...

Re: Condenser
I cannot see why the cost would be a consideration with your "Trashcan" or a Vertex condenser. I consider them both "one and done". If a guy wants peace of mind buy a spare to draw dust! LOL The...
