Use your first winter to put on the power steering. Each piece can be rebuilt for a fair cost at Lares Steering in Cambridge Minnesota. They can be thrusted. The car takes on a whole new enjoyment...

Any time I open a video with a person that age trying to tell the world what it was like to be a tax paying citizen fifty years before his birth, the video is closed.

Re: 1956 mercury 312 stalling

Re: Draft tube block off plate?
Any standard Ford or Chev fuel pump block off plate with its gasket can be used. Apply sealer to the bolt threads, and make sure the bolts are not too long.

The center bearing on the cam has a groove machined in to run oil to the top. If one side gets more than the other, there is a restriction between the cam and the top. You can remove the rocker shaft...

Re: Tranny cooling line issue
Yes, you can shorten that and reflare. You may have to rent a double flare tool from one of the parts houses, but if you get it back soon, they will usually give your check back to you.

Re: 1956 ford customline starter problem

Re: Gen to Alt Conversion - Easy?
On that car, it may be that easy. It is already twelve volt - ground, just make sure the hot from the alternator is in good shape and able to handle the load without heating up.
