Figment
Imho that equates to tearing up the hood. Resizing/compressing the rounds back to shape is quite a task; I don’t find it “easy “ to reshape. I have to sometimes compress them because they...

Re: removing hood rods?

I made some fittings to attached to the rods and used a slide hammer to “gently” persuade it out.
All the above is good
No heat.

Re: In need of shock help

So you have a spanner wrench that would back off the locking ring behind the reservoir cover?
Heat and muscle are about the only things available!
You might heat the cover and quench while pretty...

68C cabriolet

Badly need a drivers side latch pillar (jamb) cover. This covers the door post where the striker and dovetail mount. About 32” high. I’ll consider most any condition if complete (not half of one!)....

Re: Stainless Ateel Fords

AzBob
Exactly right. Some are magnetic (iron) therefore will rust. Many stainless will rust when welded even with stainless wire or rod of same alloy.

As to the pics on Vince website. By looking...

Re: Stainless Ateel Fords

I’ve seen the Model A. 30-40 years ago it was owned by someone in our area ….Chattanooga. Haven’t kept up but the owner was not very welcoming. Had to “know someone”…and I did back then!!

Re: 1931 Tudor Phaeton

Don’t be taken in by an”restored” chassis….assume it still needs everything.
The body is full of wood including doors. Is the wood stable? Wet rot,’dry rot? Re-wooding could be approaching $8k if...

Re: Garnish ID

I likely have a original roadster one if you can’t find one.
Might consider some trade in of the slant…if not rusted our or repaired on the bottom.

Re: Garnish ID

Re: Tudor Rain Gutters

You’d be putting a band aid on a hemorrhage.
IMHO
System 3 makes some filler products but they are just a better band aid

Re: Vicky front seats

Bobs pics are early seats. Are you looking for early or late? The later has the wider drivers seat and the slide setup for the drivers side. The passenger side is same floor setup. And, they don’t...

Completely different shape and structure
Vic has “hour glass” curved back with lower flap
Tudor straight back…
No where close
Someone will likely post pics or easily seen in model a pics...

Re: New Shocks vs Rebuilt Shocks

I’ve rebuilt shocks in the past. Fairly successfully…not always
You have to start with something decent to end up with something decent.

Re: Zenith 3 Carburetor

Don’t know the quality of the builder….looks like a pro operation.
Good 3 used to go for a lot more than $500.
Most I’ve seen are for side bowls. I think non side bowls are more rare…not sure

Re: 28/29 vs 30/31 phaeton top irons

Yes deluxe are made from flat stock; not tubular like standard phaetons and roadsters .

They do not interchange. But like...
