Re: Modern post manufacture shock absorbers
Do what Lawrie suggests, OR after cleaning, grinding the burrs, etc, buy & apply Graphite paint available at Tractor supply stores, then reassemble. This works well and doesn't require wrapping the...

Re: Petronix ignition question
I also use the Pertronix with Packard 440 wire. My 39 is still going after 29 years & the 32 more than 11.
Just lucky, I guess. I'm too lazy to change them now

Re: Firewall insulation material
You might try a company called Concourse Parts.
They sell parts for 50's Fords.
I bought from them a firewall insulator for my 56
Ford that is made like the 32 pics you provided.
They might be...

Re: 6V electric fuel pump suggestions
I agree with JSeery
Use of a relay is smart & takes the load off the ignition switch, if you are using it to turn on the pump.
Seems like I remember a pump made by "Autopulse" when we were kids

Re: Pearl Harbor
The most accurate depiction of the Pearl Harbor attack is very well done in the movie:
Tora Tora Tora.
A great movie. Rent it, you won't be disappointed

After looking at the differences in Carb spacing, I can see the advantage, but to my eyes, doesn't seem that it would make that much difference.
Thanks again for the info
