Re: Adjusting timing
Gene, a little more info in the Balancer.
My thought when I got it was newer engines mostly had Harmonic Balancers. I figured the manufacturers would install if they felt it was not a good...

Re: help! clutch won‘t disengage…
Tom, from what I have read, originally the arm was keyed and pinned but somewhere along the line the 'bean counters' decided it would be cheaper to eliminate the key and keyway and make the pin...

Re: help! clutch won‘t disengage…
Tom, I'm glad it was the lever as I suggested (post #16). They always crack thru the pin hole. That is a relatively easy fix compared to a pressure plate.

Re: Adjusting timing
Gene, I like the idea of a harmonic balancer, but of course I have no proof that my engine will live longer. It does seem to run smoother? My engine was balanced when rebuilt, but I don't have...

Re: I give up
I know you said everything is fine with the carburetor but to me your symptoms keep pointing to a clogged idle jet or idle circuit.
I see no where in this discussion what kind of carburetor you...

Re: Adjusting timing

Re: Starter issues
I saw a tip isn the Restorer Magazine where a small piece of hose was inserted in the switch to act as a spring to separate the contacts.

Re: 1931 Tudor Phaeton
Dave, According to a book I was just reading, 2,229 Deluxe Phaetons produced in 1931. Less than half the amount of 400-A Convertible Sedans. I would say a rather rare car.

Davey, I wish we had known others that were at the "Spring Opener". Four couples from our club made the trek to Clear Lake. We had a great time visiting the surrounding area. We decided to take our...

Re: Cast fuel bowl leaking- round two
I once had a leak in that location I could not stop weeping.
As an alternative to buying a new gas line or sediment bowl, I used a brass flare gasket. No problems since... just incase your problem...

Re: help! clutch won‘t disengage…
