my new flathead
can anyone identify these offy heads and intake as far as how old they are? I just got this engine and plan to put in my 37'. I have been told it is a 53' with a Merc crank. the stromberg 97's look as though they were plated may years ago. thanks!

You may or may not be able to get a clue to the actual age of the engine by the date code stamped on the intake surface of the block.
As far as the crank is concerned visual inspection is the only way to know for sure. The heads and manifold could be as old as '49-'50 to a recent re-pop. |

I've got an intake like yours about 12 yr's old. My heads are also identical and are about 30 yr''s old.
