Default Vaccum Windshield wiper motor

I bought a NOS Trico w w motor for my 41 coupe, it works only in one direction. If I push the switch in and out it will work both ways ( kinda hard to do driving ) I took my old one apart to see if i could do something to correct the problem. Parts fell out of the cover where it reverses direction and I can't figure out how they installed to make the ports reverse. Any help would be appreciated. The new motor works fine and I want to keep it in use, may have to add a tank but first need to get it working in both directions. Al

The paddle inside may be dried out. Trying the brake fluid or MM oil trick my restore it.

I had same problem only to find the vac. lines were not hooked up on the switch correctly. I witched around and it worked fine and had the variable speed feature.

Thanks for the response, the wiper motor works great, just don't go back and forth as it should. I'll try swaping lines on switch, again. Thanks Al
