I bet your right on the 40. The guy that owns it swore it was a 38 which I new wasn't correct. I was thinking it was a 39 standard. Thanks

![]() Wow, What a great find. The sheet metal looks OK to? Definitely a 1940 Ford Standard Coupe. If it had been a 1939 model, there would be no Quarter Windows, the Windscreen would have opened and the Windscreen Wipers would have been mounted at the top. I hope you took it home with you? |

![]() That 1950 Ford F3 you found is none to shabby. It looks like it just needs a battery and you could drive it away. It is hard to believe these old cars survive so well in snow country? |

'40 standard grilles are a lot easier to find than '39 deluxe ones.

It's definitely a 40 coupe, but it has a 39 grille!

Looks like you are a little off the beaten trail. How did you manage to stumble onto these?

Nice find!! Never know what you may find out in MT! What are your plans with them?
My family has a place up the boulder south of Big Timber, MT. We love it out there. Beautiful part of the country! |

I think that it would be worth a road trip to get that 40! My 50 Merc came from Bismark, some nice old tin hibernating in that neck of the woods.

I found most of a 39 coupe a ways east of Bozeman. It had been placed in the bank of the Yellowstone River (for rip-rap?) Torched the top off a little below the belt line, and hauled it home for future roof patching material on a 40 Deluxe coupe that sat on its top on an Indian reservation. So, the latter will be a 40 coupe with 39 windshield wipers. That ought to confuse a few people. I sure hope the coupe contours are the same between 39 and 40!
