26-27 rear spring U bolts...
While looking over my old rear spring for removal, those castle nuts and threads look pretty bad. I might have to cut those bolts out to get that spring.
Who sells those replacement bolts, or do the model A sets work. Any input would be great. The T parts vendors open in a few hours, will talk with them as well. |

Model A would be too wide. Call Lang's.

Re: 26-27 rear spring U bolts...
Thanks for the input fellas, I got a very good education on U-bolts today from the vendor/parts community. I realize why they were not listed in any catalog as they are no longer reproduced.
The pictured U-bolts after a little cleanup and wire brush with help from WD-40 seem to still be serviceable. The cotter pins just disintegrated and the castle nuts came off with ease. I have 9 leafs and should now get the new assembly back in after my order for new shackles and clamps/pad comes in. Expecting the worst for a pair of 90 year old bolts but seems to have worked out O.K. |
