B distributor
I just got whjat is supposed to be a mod B dist. It appears to fit an A head. It has a round Dist. cap, external condensor, no visible advance parts, A connection that sticks out through a notch in the cap The points are the later Ford type. Is it what it's supposed to be? And where do I get a cap for it? Points, rotor ?

Re: B distributor
it sounds like you have a distributor with a mish mash of parts. Some genuine and some not. Heres where to start looking for B dist info:
http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/bdistributordetails.htm they are difficult to get correct parts, specifically springs. David Renner will rebuild it so it actually works. BTW, the timing is different too. Follow the links on Vinces site on B timing to find out how. Personally, I think they're a PITA. I prefer to have control over the advance. But, if you want an automatic advancing distributor, try one from FS ignitions. |

Re: B distributor
On the EV8 site is a fellow who rebuilds dist, BUBBA's. He might be able to hook you up with springs or other parts.

Re: B distributor
The "B" dist can use the same cap and rotor as A, the points are close to A, the difference is in how the spring is attached to the plate
