Default Bolt kit is not even close?

I ordered a top wood bolt kit for my 29 CCPU and I have to say, only about half of the hardware matches the original hardware. Is it that hard to sell a correct bolt kit? Is there anybody out there making correct size bolt kits?

Try giving Roy Nacewicz a call or send him an e-mail through his website at fordbolts.com He is not too far South of you, located in Carleton. I don't know if he has a kit that you are looking for, but he is the one that I would try. I have bought from him in the past and couldn't be happier with the product.

This may be overkill, but I enjoy going through buckets of rusty Model A hardware at swap meets. It is amazing what you can find. The fine thread carriage bolts are an example. I then refinish the hardware to match original specs. Gar Williams

I recently got a top and cab bolt kit for a30 pickup from a well known source with a good reputation. Many of the bolts were the length of the hole they were intended to fit, but too short to install a nut and washer. Someone in the packaging department of whomever makes up these kits does not know how to measure the length of a bolt. I returned it. The only way they know somethings wrong is if you point it out to the boss.

The carriage bolts are 1/2 inch too long, the bolts at the front of the header are too short. I am going to try and save all that I can of the original hardware. Good thing the kit was only $7.00.

I hope you return it and inform them of the wrong bolts...who was it by the way?

Get their name out there so others will be aware of the fact.

Maybe they will get their act together.

Thanks.

ive had the same problem with bolt kits from snyders. not long enough. also had some spring center bolts from them. while putting the front spring together, the nut stripped and the whole thing popped apart. hardware should not be a mystery.

I'd let them know as well. Being in Waterford, isn't there a good ol fashioned wood floor harware up there? I've often gone to Grand Hardware in Southgate for "good stuff", and also, Duke's Hardware in Dearborn. Both are genuine hardwares we all love. Sometimes Krytskeys (sp?) in Waltz has good stuff too.
