Question differential disassembly

I just finished dropping the rear end out of my 34 roadster and removing the wheel hubs. The rear end locked up because there was no oil in the differential. I want to take it apart to find out what the damage is inside but I don't know how to go about disassembling it. Do I have to stand it up vertically to work on it and do I have to remove the brake lines and E brake connections to the wheels before it can be done. I'm a rookie at this kind of work and need a lot of advice an how to procede. It has been fun so far and I am learning much from the advice I am receiving from you experts. TIA

Theodore

Remove both rear hubs, remove the spring but be careful with that, remove the radius rod bolt where they bolt together on the torque tube. Unbolt the drivers side axle housing from the center section and slide it off the axle then grab the axle and the whole carrier with the ring gear and both axles will come out.
