Help! Brakes pull to left
Need help fast- I rebuilt the brake cylinder on the right rear of my roadster and now it literally dives to the left when braking hard. The brakes are Locheed post war 42-48 brakes with only the top adjustment cams. Long shoe is towards the front and short shoe towards the rear. This is the only cylinder that I worked on so the problem must lie with this wheel.
Please help before I crash |

Re: Help! Brakes pull to left
You could have a leaky wheel cylinder.. which causes the brake to grab. Start by pulling the two front wheels and check them out.

Re: Help! Brakes pull to left
Short shoe should be towards the front and longer shoe on the rear .

Re: Help! Brakes pull to left
Bendix brakes have the long shoe in the rear but locheed brakes have them reversed.

Re: Help! Brakes pull to left
Pull the drums off both sides, and carefully check they are both sides the same. Usually if one side needs doing, so does the other side.

Re: Help! Brakes pull to left
I checked the front wheel cylinders and didn't see any leakage but I will pull the wheels to check it out, thanks

Re: Help! Brakes pull to left
Yes, I bled them several times and got all the air out.
