Headlamp bolt to headlamp support bar part number
Does anyone know the part number for the Headlamp Swivel Bolt which attaches the headlamp to the headlamp support cross bar assembly?
Thanks. Pluck Last edited by Steve Plucker; 03-15-2012 at 11:22 PM. |

Re: Headlamp bolt to headlamp support bar part number
Hi Pluck.
There are various numbers listed. A-20972. 30/31. 3/8" x 16 x 1 3/4".Carriage bolt. UNC. Not listed in all my parts books??? A-20912. 30. 3/8" x 16 x 1". Carriage bolt. UNC. On any original cars I have carefully dismantled through the years, there has always beem two different lengths of bolt. One is shorter to go in behind the headlight bar on the inside. The difference is only about 3/8" (not 3/4" ) but the parts books I have, only mention one length, or maybe one bolt of each year listed was used.????? I would be interested to hear any comment on headlight bar bolt lengths. The repro bolts I have seen are all the one length.

Re: Headlamp bolt to headlamp support bar part number
Pluck,
I don't see where the Head Lamp Swivel Bolt was supplied as a separate part. Nut and washer, yes--bolt, no. Joe

Re: Headlamp bolt to headlamp support bar part number
Hi Pluck.
Sorry. I was barking up the wrong tree. My parts book gives the Headlamp Swivel Bolt the part number of A-21212 for 1930. Parts book dated 1st Jan. 1931. Page 36.

Re: Headlamp bolt to headlamp support bar part number
Marco, Thanks...A-13020 shows up on MAFFI's site of their Parts Index as Headlamp Swivel Bolt:
Les, Thanks...tried to find A-21212 in the USA Parts Price Lists and on the MAFFI site and it is not there but the photo you show is the bolt I am referencing. Reason I am interested in this bolt is that there are two types...one with a "dome" head and the other with a "dished" or convexed head. Trying to determine if one or the other went to the "one light" or "two light" A-13010 Headlamp case and support assembly. Anybody??? Thanks you, Pluck |

Thanks for the lead. Yes, my Geelong and East Winsor books show A-21212 as the swivel bolt for 1930. That would indicate that Ford changed it from a headlamp part number to a standard part number probably in late 1929. I've seen that with a number of items.
