Default 34 Ford Pickup grille trim clips

OK. So I have tried some of the suggestions given me on here.I bought some trim clips from Midwest Early Ford store. They don't fit..too small..probably for a car.$5 wasted.I bought some more online for $12..money wasted..too big.Macs or Carpenter don't list any..just for a car.

Does anyone on here know from first hand knowledge where to get the spring steel clips that mount the stainless trim on a 34 pickup? I don't need any suggestions,I would like to hear from someone who has actually purchased some that fit.If you have, where did you get them?I have not seen any listed on any of the antique supply companies other than those for a passenger car which do not work.

I bought mine directly from Dennis Carpenter,in his store, in Concord NC. I had a sample of an original one which he matched.
Dennis does list them directly in his catalog but he did find them for me from his stock. This was a number of years ago and I do not know if he has any more. I do not know if this helps you or not. Contact them directly and talk to a knowledgable person, like Bob Jones ( Dennis's NOS person). Mike

I have not found them in the catalog I have from him.Nor on his website. They may have stopped supplying them.I bought some things from him in Concord once that he no longer carries. Thanks though. If I make it to Nashville Goodguys Saturday I will talk with them there.

Don't know about 34 trucks But on a 34 car you can use small round head screws and nuts 5-32 I think. It worked much beter than the clips.

I have used the small round head screws and nuts (34billct...post above) on a 34 pickup grill and it works very well.

I bought a couple of sets from Macs, but they didn't fit. I kept trying and finally found a set. I'll have to go into the files to fine the number, and I'll do it this afternoon, Byron.

I'm Back , couldn't let it get away. I ordered most of my parts for my resto from MACS I don't remember how I got to this but here is the Part #, and they are just the right stuff. P/N 68-20002 Outer grill clip/16 pcs/V20000B. These were meant for a 1936 because of the prefix number '68'. Hope they still have them, Byron

Thanks, I will check out that part number. If it doesn't work I guess I will try going to the small head screw method mentioned.

It looks like you are about one year away from being on the road, Good Luck. Send me a picture when you're done.
