Default I need a little paint help

Hi, I washed my pickup today and on the box was a small flake of paint coming off about 1/4 x 3/4 it is acrylic laquer the paint is about 4 years old, I was hoping there was some way to possibly glue it or something. I am not a painter so I was hoping it doesn't have to be touched up.. thanks, Jim

Do you have some leftover paint? Lacquer is easy to repair.

if you have left over paint that is the quick fix. Take it to the paint shop and you may be on your way in less than an hour. Wayne

I've "glued " pieces back with 1. clear finger nail polish behind the flake or 2. use your extra ( slightly thinned ) lacquer and try to brush it behind the flake and push the flake into it.

Tape "Made in the USA" over the chip for now.

Put one of those small do not touch signs over it... They are great for hiding defects

In my opinion there is no perfect spot for a bullet hole decal, I hate those things. LOL

A flake coming off sounds like a problem starting or are you talking about a scratch ?

My venicle is not nor will it ever be a "show" veicle. On the black parts (fenders, etc) I have used the "paint pens" to temporarily cover scratches and dings that inevitabely happen. Just a little dab will do ya. It's a good 10 footer cover.

Hey, I agree, for a temporary fix for the show, A clever sign sure worked for me one time in winning a "Best Paint" goldie. My small sign read "Can you find a defect in the lower body paint ??? Now you know where the sign was placed... Standing aside, I observed two judges looking all over Elmer's Thorne Brown body panels, never thinking to look under the sign. jiml...

Thanks for the help, I used the finger nail polish and it seems ok so far, there were 2 small flakes, still attatched but open on one side. I will have to get it fixed correctly later. Thanks again for the help I really appreciate it and all the help I get here..
