A guy on the radio today took a pot of boiling water outside, tossed the water into the air (-17 degrees, -45 wind chill) and it turned to vapor and disappeared.

They tossed a cup of tap water into the air and when it hit the ground it was little ice pellets.

THAT'S stinkin' cold!!

I don't think that it got above 29 degrees here today, Its 21 now and the last weather report I saw says it could be as low as 10or 11degrees in the morning. I've got the model A's drained and the faucets trickling. I sure don't want the pipes to freeze. Its been 26 years since I had any pipes freeze.

Chief related this: In Oklahoma, many years ago, an early, warm spring, sap was flowing freely & trees were leafing out, THEN, a SEVERE artic blast & huge tree trunks & large limbs literally EXPLODED, with sounds like huge GUNS!!
Trees that were later cut for firewood, were quite easy to split! Bill W.

Hey guys, I can sympathise with your current weather, but here I am working outside under a punishing sun, hot wind & dousing myself in water to keep going.

With a high of only 47 tomorrow....Brrrrrrrr.

I'm thinking about emailing the governor of the state. And asking him to only let Model-A, Model-T {O'K, all other type "Antique" cars too} people
move into the state from now on. What'a ya' think?

Bob, when I move to Florida in 2015, I'm bringing my 30 Roadster with me. As I write this tonight, the actual temperature here in far northern Wisconsin is -26 F. Forecast says it might reach 40 below (actual) tonight. Do you think your Model A would start here tomorrow morning?

The weather is bad here in Southern California, after I put shorts on I had to go out and mow my green grass and pick some lemons and oranges off my trees for some friends! I do hope all my Fordbarn friends in the rest of the country can stay warm and be safe.

johnsor,

My '29 might because it is a 12 volt with the 6 volt starter. However, I really don't care to find out! Come on down, we'll be waiting for you in 2015.

This morning when I got up at seven thirty, the temperature was 12 degrees. Extreme temps, hot or cold isn't good. I'm looking for at least another day or two of extreme cold.
