When I saw Edsel's car in a magazine or book, I thought it was kind of ugly, but seeing it in person has completely changed my mind. It's a beautiful car and has been returned to the Edsel family. The restoration on it was a lot of work and the finished job is fantastic. Years ago someone got ahold of it and did some lousey custonizing. It was so bad, it could have been the begining of the term "ratrod". |

Re: Gilmore/MAFFI Museum opening: early report
I can't add anything to the excellent job done in the "Model A Museum, in pictures" thread. I tried to take some pictures but it was a bit overwhelming--Model A's everywhere you turned.
I can add that I had two favorites: There is a deluxe phaeton in the Museum that is so nice that every time I stand beside it, it's almost like a religious experience, and I don't even particularly like phaetons. Similarly, Edsal's car was just wonderful. Folks who have contributed but not yet had the opportunity to see the Museum can be assured that it is a class act. Steve |

I think this is the most Model A's that I have ever seen in one place.

I Really enjoyed the Grand Opening. The Model A Museum is a first class display. It should be on all model A owners to do list. The museum sets an new standard at the Gilmore and it can only get better. Here is a picture of the Gilmore grounds and the Model A Building
