Default 41 car steering shaft key dim

Hello, I’m writing to see if anyone can give me a hand and verifying the steering shaft Key dimension correct for a 1941 Ford car and a supplier

This is the key that slips into the steering shaft and slides into the steering wheels boss.

I purchased a key from one of the Ford Parts dealer (C&G) , and when I got it, it was both (shorter in length And narrower in width ) in dimension

The new key fell right out of the steering shaft and could not hold in place due to being too narrow and too short . This key has a width of 5/32” and length of 19/32”

I believe a 3/16” wide x 3/4” long key is required

Question = Did Ford have a special 3/16 with key to use on the shaft? If so, can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier to purchase this from?

Thank you, John

You are correct 3/16 x 3/4 .Cars with light rod the depth is 1/4 so it does not contact it

You can get a normal woodruff key from a hardware store and grind the bottom flatter as needed.
