Do you think a head surface will help?
I helped a buddy with some much needed parts for his model A that were not available in NZ. He called by today with some other thanks bits. I have quite a few speed gear parts as a display , heads , manifolds, etc etc . He gave me this today . I think it’s very cool . Maybe I have a twisted sense of cool …His grandsons dug it out of a bank ,with just a corner peeking out , with their bare hands. It’s going to look great among the shiny finned heads etc.
Do you think a helicoil and light surfacing is in order.? Oh yea some stop leak ? |

Re: Do you think a head surface will help?
I would get some small LED lites and appropriate mounting fixtures and make a hanging overhead light. I did something similar out of junk pallet wood and old glass insulators over a kitchen counter on the cheap. I have plans to do more stuff with many old Ford parts we inherited to repurpose into something. If a part can't be put back into service why not make it into something else useful? That head has character!

It appears to me to be the elusive "Air Cooled" version . . .

Love it. I go with tomcarman, repurpose it.

Looks like pre-aluminum lightweight racing head, too bad you only have one.

The first of the three photos brings this to mind...

Re: Do you think a head surface will help?
When I looked up that image, the text stated it was drawn with a mix of things like pastels, crayons and other stuff on a piece of cardboard. Surely a similar piece done in aluminum would have to be worth considerably more than a scratchy drawing on an old cereal box, huh?
