very new owner
Hello people,
I am enjoying reading the forum, I am learning a lot. I am a new owner of a 1930 Model A STD coupe the engine number I did find and research shows it was built in mid june. It has the round speedometer as well. I can not find the body number in the cab. the door windows have an arch so im guessing its a Murry Body, correct me if I'm wrong on that. The Car belonged to my Aunt and Uncle they bought it from her Aunt and uncle in 1970 i know that they did not do much to the car other than just keep it running and parades every now and then and just over 4,000 miles while they owned it. the car has now 47,000. they car had not been out of the garage or stated since 1990 when my uncle passed away. I had the chance to purchase the car in Oct 2017 that is how I came to be the current care taker. The car is not to be chopped or hotroded out. she wanted it restored and kept in good shape. so that is what will happen. She passed a few weeks after we made the deal. I did get the car running in just a few hours and have put about 200 miles on it. So the Journey begins. |

Re: very new owner
The Coupe body was by Ford and the window ID you refer to, the arch shape. was to identify four Door Sedans as Briggs, no arch, or Murray, with arch shape. The Coupe did not have a body number. Keep it running and enjoy it. At 47,000 original miles it is unique so let us see a photo.

Re: very new owner
Check this link out...it may help you find the assembly plant code (or the body number as you called it).

Re: very new owner
Easy way for pics:
Click the "blue post reply" lower left bottom of page, when text box opens, in the top middle of the bar you will see a "paperclip" click that, a window will open "manage attachments" click "choose file" then pick your picture, after you picked up to seven pics click the top "upload" on the right hand side of the text box, wait for it to upload. You must type something, anything into the text box message, scroll down to see "preview post" at bottom of your text box, you should see your message as it will appear when you post, if you like it click "submit reply" to post. Easy-cheesy

Re: very new owner
At the bottom of your reply frame - attach files - manage attachments and then a new window where you choose the picture on your computer ; thats all there is.

Not hot rod or darksider
well good straight everything. No engine yet got many ready for the operating
table. so for now how bout a good 1935 V8. My brain says don't hack it don't destroy it: My brain says 'think'. this has absoultly no torch no weld no nothing. Machined a plate for a 48-52 F1 steering box to model a holes. I tweeked the F1 pit man arm to the A. I machined the steering column to the F1 box thus keeping the a spark and throttle and steering wheel. At this point nobody can tell. At any time this can go back to a 4cyc engine, bolt for bolt. |
