Default Re: Stromberg carb questions

If I read your posting above properly you changed the accelerator rod on the side of the Carb to a shorter one from your old Carb. The Stromberg 97 comes with the proper length rod! Do not change the rod, you can change where the rod is connected on the two round balls on the throttle plate linkage. The rod has to remain the rod that came with the Carb. The Stromberg 48 Carb takes a rod that is slightly SHORTER than the 97 rod, you do not want to mix the two rods.

Terry, ive been using the longer rod on all Stroms for going on 20 yrs, 48,81 and 97 and never had a complaint or trouble with that practice in all that time, they work great with the longer one. OMO,take it for what its worth. ken ct. Hundreds of Strombergs have past through these doors with long rods on them.
