Default 40 Tire Wear:

My stock 40 appears to be wearing the right front tire on the inside.Everything has been checked as far as alignment with all with-in specs. The tires are coker classics with 32 psi.I have noticed sometimes some vibration on the right front when brakes are applied.King pins and bearing play are at minimum.I hate to ruin an expensive tire!Any ideas or suggestions?

So what are the results of the alignment---do you have the printout?----if several of the settings are at the limits combined they can be enough to wear the tire

A couple of possibilities for inside wear on one tire and not the other:

Worn draglink end with any static toe-out throws all the toe-out in to the RF.

Worn kingpin bushings or loose wheel bearing toes out the tire even though the spindle is straight. Any kingpin or other play is a compromise. As Kurt says, if you stack "within tolerances" you can expect less than good tire wear.

Loose u-bolts and spring clamp lets axle run out of square.

Loose REAR u-bolts or radius rod bolts lets rear axle dog trot, pushing front, throwing toe out in to RF tire.

Frame or one crossmember out of square.

Vibration on RF could be lateral out of balance, worn KP's, worn ends or a combination.

Is the wear toe scuff (rub your hand across the tread) or just slow wear from negative camber?

What's the mileage on the tire? Toe scuff is fast wear, camber wear is slow.

It is not JUST a simple toe setting.

Depending on the severity of the wear, you may want to rotate the RF tire to the rear, which will slow down the irregular wear rate.
