Default The old A workhorse.

I know a number of you may consider what I have done here as A abuse.

But the situation was that I needed some help with a project for the wife. She has an old greenhouse that needed a new roof. So rather than climbing all over the roof of the thing building the new roof, I built the roof assembly in my shop and then have the challenge of trying to get it up on top of the old greenhouse frame. So here is where the A comes in.

I think the pictures will kind of explain how I used my old 29 A coupe to help out on the project. It worked great as a good solid place to attach my block and tackle to pull the roof up over the top of the frame. Anyway I think the pictures will show how well it worked.

I know the old A is suppose to be for enjoyment but when a project like this comes along, have to use all available resources.

Nothing wrong with that. An A always wants to help.

Just taking it back to where it has probably been many times. The A was always a workhorse.

My 13 WB is in need of paint...way past patina. I use it to go to Lowes, HD, etc all the time. Not uncommon to have someone challenge my use of a valuable antique like that. The last one to do so was driving an oversized $50k Dodge truck. HA!
So more power to you, Fred!

Glad you chose to go around the bumper bracket and not just the bumper bars. So a fella try a similar pull and the bumper pulled off both repops like they weren`t there.
Good job!

Yes I did think about the fact I had no idea where the front bumper came from. But I figured the bracket should hold it. The roof was not that heavy anyway, maybe 100 to 200 lbs.

I used my AA grain bed as a trash truck to go to the dump. It was a big hit with the trash truck drivers at the dump. Especially the aoogh horn.

Has, or does, anyone make a roof cargo rack for a 1929 45-B coupe? Bill W.
