Default Speedo cable end

There is a bell shaped piece of metal that’s squeezed onto the speedometer cable at the end that screws into the drive assemble (see 1 &2 in the pic). The threaded cap surrounds it (3).

I think that while removing the rear radius rod I hit it and it crumbed like a piece of cheap pot metal. I don’t see that part sold separately anywhere. Is it possible to fashion that piece out of a common item that I may have around?

check around your area, you should have a speedometer shop near by. they have new ends and should be able to fix you up.
