Help identifying this wheel
I came across this wheel, it's 16" and 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern
The center hole is huge at 4 5/16" across and there are no nubs on the inner for center cap. Any idea what it may fit? Any ideas would be appreciated

Re: Help identifying this wheel
It looks like an agricultural implement wheel.

Re: Help identifying this wheel
WWII Jeep wheels had a similar center but I didn't think they had the "windows" between the center and the rim.

Re: Help identifying this wheel
I would say that it is a Jeep CJ wheel... The CJ's had the same bolt pattern as the '40-48 Fords, they did not have any hub cap attachment devises..
The large center opening would be required to clear the large axle hubs that 4xs have..

Re: Help identifying this wheel
Probably a front wheel for a tractor, if it is a 16 inch rim.

Re: Help identifying this wheel
Thanks guys, I found it at the local recycling center while dropping off my cardboard and such. Thanks all and Randy in ca for the link. It definitely looks like the CJ rims as many of you suggest. I had no idea they had the same bolt pattern. Too cool I like the nubless center. Looks clean

Re: Help identifying this wheel
I based my observation on the raised pattern around the bolt/lug holes, this was typical of the early Jeep wheels. The absence of hub cap attachments, spring clips and/or knobs also is typical of Jeep..
Ford and Jeep hub centers are generally wider than other vehicles, not to sure why, maybe because Ford was very instrumental in the actual development of the WWII Jeeps, but then again, maybe not. GM has always been very careful making sure that a portion of the vehicle weight is carried on the hub, and a portion on the lug bolts.. Ford has generally not subscribed to this practice..
