Default 94 Carb

I have a good 94 carb with a damaged thread where the gas line screws in. Is there any fix for this or is it junk.

I would also like to know where I could buy an accelerator pump to throttle linkage if they are available.
Thanks

I don't know about Australia but here in the US 94 carburetors are plentiful and cheap so I would keep the old one for spare parts and buy another one and put a kit in it.

Someone should have an extra top cheap. I think I do, but I'm snowed in. Even with shipping it will probably be cheaper than fixing the old one. Certainly a better way to go about it.

Sometimes you can re thread it with a pipe tap of similar size. Then you can use an pipe to tubing adapter. Have done this several times.

Teflon tape has no business anywhere near a carburetor.
It will live up to it's name and migrate just like a TAPEWORM.

I used a pipe tap on one of mine before I switched to '97's. Used a 1/4" hose bib to connect the fuel line. Not correct but for a driver it worked.

I put a helicoil in one once. You have to be careful not to damage the tapered seat, however.

When the fitting is tightened, the Teflon migrates up the thread and can enter the carb where it will end up somewhere that you don't want it. I had a friend, John Lingenfelter, who was a well known drag racer. One year at the Nationals, he used tape on the carb threads. The engine stalled on the starting line during stock eliminator finals and lost the race. Lesson learned.

Taboo with hydraulics as well for the same reasons. Really mess up a control valve.
