Brumfield BF head and timing
What settings suggested for Brumfield BF heads?
1. point gap 2. timing (BTDC, etc) |

Set it by the book but you might have to retard the spark more to stop pings on hills. I like my Brumfield head! my 3x plugs are gapped .028 and it runs great!

I have run Brumfield heads for 25 years. My points are set at .018 to .020 and the spark plug gap is set to .030. Distributor has the Nurex upper plate with "modern" mustang style points. Oh, one mo thang 3X plugs.

Stock point gap, stock base timing, just don't advance the timing with the hand lever as much like stock. You could make a stop to keep from hand lever advancing to much timing. Or just listen to the engine if it starts knocking retard the timing with the hand lever. Go for a drive and find out what your car wants, enjoy the drive!
