starter button
The starter button on the 49, you have to push very hard on it to work. I have a 49 51 shop manual and there is nothing in there on replacement ? Thanks for any help. Jack.

Re: starter button
Before you work on the button, disconnect the battery.
To remove the button, compress the clip on the backside. Push the button forward ( toward the seat) and you'll see the connection wire. The bullet connector can be released by moving the clip. Replacement buttons can be iffy. I found a nos unit that fit perfectly. The repops wouldn't clip into place properly for me.
