35 ford instrument restoration
35 Ford dash gauges are quite intricate regarding correct finish and fine graphics screening - anyone had good experience in having your 35 Ford gauges restored/refinished "as factory" ?

best to find a set that does not require restoration.

Peter
Get in Contact with Bruce Abbott at Abbott Instrument Restoration in Portland OR (503) 246-1287. He is very knowledgable and he can help you He has been working for some time trying to come up with the proper color for me on two sets of gauges for my 35 Fords and I think that he has got the coloring on my guages as close to original as possible. As you are probably aware replicating the grey/silver color with the vertical brush pattern on these 35 Gauges is not easy especially with the various levels of shading that was there originally. I have had other shops attempt to restore my 35 gauges and they were not even remotely close with the color. After a year and a half of trial and error attempting to come up with the colors he is in the final stages of completing 2 sets encompassing the fuel/oil, temp/Amp, speedo, radio dial and glove box clock. hope this helps Walter |
