Seats on my 1939 Ford Deluxe Convertible are becoming unglued. Looks unsightly. Anyone have a fix for this type of problem? Thanks!

My knowledge of the upholstery for that car is limited but it looks like the last upholsterer made some rather large piping to cover the transition between the seat back cushion and the seat back support structure. Most of the ones I've seen don't have that feature and the seat back cushion snugs up pretty well against the supports.

Someone like Kube could help you more than I but it looks like it will need either some upholstery rework to get them to fit right or it may need some cushion spring work depending on why it doesn't fit right. The cushions look to be removable and if they are, a person can get a better look at what is going on back there.

I would think that the piping would be sewn to the cover or at least hog ringed to the springs and not glued. The fix would be going to a GOOD upholstery shop and getting their advice on a solution to fix the problem.

TJ is correct. Whomever did that upholstery job was not good. Find a good upholtery person to fix it correctly.
