Default What moto meter is this

I just picked this up. It looks original to me but unsure of what it is from. Any ideas?

It looks like the fluid is stuck up at the top. You could try gently tapping it down. The modern thermometers won't fit so it is not practical to try and rebuild it. Others may have other ideas on how to get the fluid back into the bulb. The old motometers register better than the repros so it is worth trying to fix it.

Motometer made their meters that were branded for different makes of cars. They also made a universal meter for any car. It looks like this is the universal variety.

Thanks nkaminar. I will fiddle with it to see if I can get the fluid back in the bowl. Anyone know how old it is? 1920s? 30s?

Probably 30's. Looks to just be a generic one and would probably work on just about anything from the era.

I hear if you put it in hot water while already attached to a piece of clothes line you can take it out and swing it around, and the centrifugal force will help to draw the mercury down. Gott a get it affixed properly to the line first though,. Swing it around FAST.
