Used hood - Cost?
New to the relm of vintage projects and replacement parts costs. What should I expect to pay for a dent-free original '31 used hood with side panels in good condition? Prices are seemingly all over the place.
Thanks |

They are all over the place but 100 would be a good price. Last swap seen one for 400 and another for 30 and it was sold.

Side panels are prevalent
Good, straight tops are a bit harder to find Really decent hood, all 4 panels $200-250 Imho |

I agree with the 250 quote for a real decent one.
I used to sell them for 150, but in my area, that buys you a shabby one now. with a hood, more then maybe any other body part, it is imperative to start with the best you can find. torn hinges or dents in the louvers is mucho work. |

Re: Used hood - Cost?
As usual, prices vary greatly. If the explorer is in an area with many events where parts are sold, the chances of finding a better deal are better. The LA area would be better as estate sales and swap meets abound. It's dying season for so many Model A owners out here and such parts are offered by the families. I belong to three clubs and the average age is in the seventies. Good Luck: Fred A
