50 Ford Pickup
Hey Gang, Just traded my 34 Sedan body and chassis for a running 50 Ford Pickup, 6 cyl. floor shift 3 speed. Since its been a long while since I did a pickup I would appreciate any help as to who I should deal with when it comes to replacement or used parts. Thanks in advance for all your usual great help. Pete/Ct.

Re: 50 Ford Pickup
Been dealing with Midwest Early Ford for new parts for a long time. Very pleased with them. As far as used parts E-Pay or do a lot of scrounging around.

Re: 50 Ford Pickup
I have a '48 F-1, six cylinder, now (but not originally) three speed floor shift. Parts are much more available than they would be for a '34!! My go-to parts supplier is C&G in California. Fantastic service. When they occasionally (but not very often) don't have something I use Carpenter as a fallback. They have an NOS service that's unique. These are very popular trucks and you will have a lot of fun with it! I strongly recommend taking the time to go to Hershey in the fall - lots of parts available if you know what you're looking at/for. And don't forget the FordBarn! Good Luck!!

Re: 50 Ford Pickup
The folks over at the Ford Truck 48-56 forum (http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum41/ a really good place for 48-56 Ford trucks) like Mid Fifty as a supplier. I haven't purchased anything from them myself since I haven't done much of any work on my 49 F-2. My first choice of supplier for my other flathead era Fords is C&G as noted in the post above.

Re: 50 Ford Pickup
C&G are good people, I've used them many times. Northern Classic trucks are super nice people also. Their body parts are first rate! I've used Carpenters also. If you're going to go original, NOS parts are best. Get a set of parts books and use www.partsvoice.com for the locator of NOS stuff. You'd be surprise how much NOS is out there and who has it. I have some extra stuff here and I'm maybe 5 miles from you in Newington.

Re: 50 Ford Pickup
It's been a few years since I parted ways with my F-1 but The Early Ford Store in CA was the source I used.

Re: 50 Ford Pickup
I've found Mac Van Pelt, C&G, and Carpenters to be great resources. Mac's is a real go-to place for the mechanical pieces.

Re: 50 Ford Pickup
Chuck's Trucks (CT), JobLot, Midwest Early Ford all helped with my 49 F-1 6. I am real happy with the 6.
