Thanks!

Early or late seat?

I would say early, because the car does not an indented firewall.

Actually, you are wanting the later seat. The man has the earlier (narrower) seat now. |

Are you looking for the wide seat with the floor slides and ratchet adjuster?

Re: WTB: Driver's seat for '31 Vicky
I'm sorry Jim but I don't have access to my pictures to show the difference in the frames and seats of the two types of seats. Can anyone help him out?

Re: WTB: Driver's seat for '31 Vicky
I'm helping a guy in California that plans to reupholster his early-'31 Vicky. He was told by another Model A guy that he had the wrong driver's seat. Hence the search for the wider seat.
Now it seems that he was getting bad advice from someone that did not know about the seat change from early to later models. So I think he has the correct original narrow seat and will keep it. (I was trying to understand how his seat got swapped out, but anything is possible over some 85+ years.) Thanks to all who provided input on this.

Re: WTB: Driver's seat for '31 Vicky
Both the early and late drivers seats are the same width and are wider than the passenger seat.
The earlier drivers seat uses a long rod at the front that can be placed in different holes in floor mounted angle brackets to position the seat for or aft. The later drivers seat uses slides and a ratchet mechanism to move the seat for or aft. Chris W. |

Re: WTB: Driver's seat for '31 Vicky
Thanks, Chris.
So it looks like we need a pair of front seats, the style with the rod across the front. Anyone have some? Email me, please.
