This topic has been discussed a lot. I would start with the search function. Also, what car or truck are you thinking about installing a Mitchell in? What gear ratio is your current axle? Why do you want a Mitchell, Etc?

Hopefully this link will be of the search for Mitchell in the Early V8 forum: http://fordbarn.com/forum/search.php?searchid=5427643

Several of my friends have them in their cars with Modified engines and have had no trouble for many years. However many people compere them with the Columbia two speed. This can be strengthened for better reliability. Both units are $$$$$. Personalty, I'd go with the Mitchell.

I'm also considering a Mitchell or a Columbia for my 39 CV.
I came across this thread that talks of those two as well as
a Volvo OD. Great pictures and Cad drawings from "40 Pickup"
Have any current members done this conversion?

https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...olvo&showall=1

Is "40 Pickup" from Sweden or "Chisel" still on the board to
talk of their Volvo conversions? Ken

I have a Mitchell in my stock'28 roadster and one in my '37 sedan both are drivers.
I cant see driving one of these cars without one.The sedan has a modified Merc about 235 horsepower. No problems in ten plus years.
