where is this 29 roadster pickup?
In 1957 when I was 15 I bought a 29 roadster pickup from "behind the gas station." Instead of hotrodding it I restored it except I painted the frame white and the engine red.
It was complete except the bottom end of the hornbutton rod and the bottom parts of the top bows were broken off. I rebuilt the engine and it ran perfectly. It also had 3 brand new old stock fenders. The left rear fender was beat up. I think it had the original tires; I remember the Firestone emblem. It was originally blue but I painted it green with yellow wheels. About 1961 or 62 I sold it to a man from Wichita, Kansas for college money. I think he owned a lumber yard or hardware store but that could be wrong. He flat towed it back to Kansas about 90 miles. Does anyone remember this? With that frame and engine color it should have stood out to a purist. Thanks. |

Re: where is this 29 roadster pickup?
I called the club guru with the best memory and he doesn't remember the car. We thought it might have been Dewey Gunzelman that bought it from you. Almost all the guys from that time are now gone. Wish I could help but can't.
