Camshaft Identification ??
Happy Easter Everyone I have recently purchased a 49-53 ?? flathead core engine. The code on top is "G 30 G" It has been previously rebuilt with .040 pistons, .020/.020 crank, hi- volume oil pump, Merc waterpumps but NOT a Merc crank. I can't id the cam. No name, but marked C 6 with 2 punch marks on the front big space, and / over A in rear space with 2 punch marks. It has smaller base circle like a regrind but a regrind would still have a Ford number (I think) The lift measures about .320, compared to .290 for an 8BA cam. Any ideas? Thanks.... Art |

Re: Camshaft 8BA or 1BA
Ford was 8ba cam has .290 lift (49-51)..1BA cam has around .320 lift (used in 52-53 ). Mercury 49-53 was around .320 lift . |

Re: Camshaft Identification ??
Thanks for your responses. I also have a 1BA cam which has the same lift as this unidentified one (.320), But this one has no marks indicating that it is a Ford product. Thanks again Art |
