New lights
I just recieved a new catalog from snyders. In the rear of the book it has a new product line.It has L. E. D. turn signal lights that go between the bumper bars. Question is do the lights flash like they should? Ive had lots of problems with the ones i have because they flash fast and real dim.Anyone had a chanch to try these and if so do they work good enough to put $28.00 apiece in them?

Re: New lights
The reason the LED lights are not flashing at the proper rate is due to the fact that they do not draw as much current as a regular bulb. This is like when you have only one bulb working on a modern car. Some of the A folks have added a resistor (4 to 10 ohm) in parallel to the LED lights to get the proper flash rate. This mod negates the benefit of LED lights in that they draw more current. Not a problem with an alternator, but with generator need to conserve as much amps as possible. You could try an electronic Flasher ie.. Victor EF32 which will work on 6V and 12V per some of the posts here. Since it is an Electronic Flasher be aware of voltage polarity as could blow the flasher. The dimness could be a bad connection to ground (positive on Model A with a generator)

Re: New lights
The Victor EF32 (which I recently purched 2 more) is not polarity sensitve and from what I tested the other night it flashes at the same correct rate reguardless of load.
So, polarity doesn't matter, 6 or 12 volts doesn't matter, and load doesn't matter. Sure looks like the perfect flasher to me. |

Re: New lights
As said above: If you use LED-lights and they flash with wrong
speed, it is NOT a matter of the lights There should be lots of info using "search"-option I had to go forward once my "old-style-mechanical-flash-relay" started burning while driving the car.... no fun. I use "m-flash" (with buzzer) and its great (actually its tiny): http://motogadget.com/en/m-flash-blinkrelais.html it wont care about load.... ( nor voltage as 5V to 18 Volt possible) Next time i will use "m-stop" http://motogadget.com/en/electrics/b...steuerung.html it will automatic deactivate after 20sec (no lights or buzzer necessary). long distance greetings Christoph Might be reasonable compromise (and cheaper) to follow Toms suggestions |

Re: New lights
I solved the problem by installing a buzzer on the ground wire. I never could remember to turn off the signal lights, so I put in a buzzer. That also solved the problem with the lights blinking too fast
