My brake pedal does not match the clutch as far as the height when they are up. Was there ever a difference with later brake pedals as in 1932and up? This was like this when I bought the car and am wondering if the notch that matches with the bell housing might be the problem.

The 1932 pedals were attached to the left K-frame leg and they are a good bit different than the model A pedals that attach to the transmission. They are equal height off the floor when in the highest position of travel. They have removable round pedal pads.

There may be changes to model A specific pedals depending on date of manufacture. If a pedal arm was replaced with one from an early model A, there may be a difference.

Check for wear. Weld up, and dress with a file. The pedals ride on a shaft, and can be repaired to fix your problem Rebush, and install the missing zerk while you have the pedals off the shaft. Check the clutch adjustment linkage. It is subject to fatigue, and failure, so look it over for cracking.

Just for reference, the early pedals will not on a later clutch shaft due to the later shaft being larger, so I doubt that is your problem.

I have found that many Brake pedals are bent both sideways and/or in the vertical location. My guess is this is caused by excessive foot pressure during a panic stop. If you remove the pedal from the shaft, you can bend the pedal back into alignment.

One of the guys in my local chapter once cut some material (and welded back) out of his clutch/brake pedal for more leg room.
