Looking for a good anodizor in the Chicago area --
Doing 59 hood ornament - the small "arrow" and would like to bright dip the grill. Good -- not cheap! Good! Thanks Chucktr6 |

Re: Anodizing
Years ago I read an article in one of the US hot rod mags about home anodizing. The kit needed is all readily available and surprizingly easy. To get a chrome finish you have an alfoil anode.
You would need a fair size tub to put a grille in but it would work. The other surprize to the whole thing was that you could do it with a car battery for the power source. I have searched high and low for the article and the magazine since but cant find it or any reference to it. Maybe someone can help with the article.

Re: Anodizing
It's been a while since I went looking. Found this which explains the process and gives you a source for kits.
http://www.thefintels.com/aer/homealuminumanodizing.htm I seem to remember Eastwood had something as well. Makes interesting reading.
