cloth spark plug wires
Has anyone used the cloth copper core spark plug wires on a 42-48 crab distributor? I see Vintage ford in Sacramento Ca. has them. Are they any good? I'm not worried about radio noise. Just want a good set of wires.

Re: cloth spark plug wires
Does anyone know where to get a good set of solid core wires that do fit?

You might want to think about just making these wires yourself.

Is that the part number for the dist. with the one piece cap with the 2 snaps? It looks like no boots for the distributor side. |

So, if there is still an open question as to whether or not a guy should buy from Vintage in Sacramento...

Re: cloth spark plug wires
I recently bought a set from Vintage Ford in Sacramento and only had to shorten them a bit. Had no problem with any being to short. A bit expensive for what they are.

You might try Rhode Island Wire; they offer the "7MM Stranded Copper Core - Cotton Braided and Lacquered" They've been my go-to for cloth wire for years.

I've bought wires from Third Gen Automotive. I've never had an issue.

Re: cloth spark plug wires
If you decide you want to suppress the ignition noise, just use a short piece of spiral wound for the ignition cable from the coil to the distributor. That is all it takes to quiet the whole thing down.

Re: cloth spark plug wires
Brillman has an impressive inventory.
They stock Rajah connectors and even found the small brass mushroom ends used in headlight sockets. I bought a 25’ roll of bulk wire and made my own.
