Default New feature on screen.

Is this happening to anyone or is it just me. I am getting on the left on my monitor top to bottom about 3 inches wide titled related searches. Hybred Cars Ford Truck dealerships. Just started about an hour ago. Can't get rid of it. Tony

Be sure you're actually signed in...

I had the 'Remember Me' box checked in the past - it lost it and 'forgot' me.

Noticed ads and all sorts of things (including not being able to see pictures)...

Yep, Get local ads stuck in between the posts. Started recently, and very annoying.

I had the same problem as Tim/Va recently, ads poping up here. Complained to a pal of mine who knows computers, he said it was probably malware letting ads sneak in. He gave me a website that downloads a program that checks the computer and then you have to pay $30.00 to get the entire program to get rid of the malware. Irritated me, but I paid it and it works. It found a bunch of stuff. Seems to make the computer run faster too with the junk gone. Anyone wants the address, PM me. I don't really want to put this up in public because it is commercial, and who knows what result you may get.

A lot of free malware tools out there if that is really the problem. Lava soft, Malwarebytes etc..I use Microsoft Security Essentials and have never had a problem. If never asks me what do you want to do (I don't know) it just does it. It updated last night at 2:35AM. It does ask you to scan now. I have picked up a bug or two and it grabbed it on the spot. I will not provide a link as you need to do it and make sure that it is secure. People spoof you with look alike pages.

a real good free malware remover is Spybot Search and Destroy, type that in your search box and it will take you to their site for a free down load

Yes-I am experiencing the same thing-thought it was the Ford Barn allowing advertizing to help pay the bills?

I have used Mozilla Firefox for years (free at Mozilla.org) instead of Internet Explorer and also loaded a program called ADBLOCK. I get NO advertisements on any website.

Google chrome allows such adds based on your previous searches. Between "Adblock plus" and Microsoft security essentials, no more problems.

Malwarebytes slowed my system down to a crawl.

The ads are there only if you're not logged in. Sign in and they are gone.

I, too, thought it was a revenue generator for FB.

I'm logged in and they ARE NOT GONE. I'm even getting ads on the Avatars. If there's a spy glass inside a circle IT'S AN AD.

foxfire42,

I have had this happen to me several times in the last few months, the last time was a couple of weeks ago.

This last time, it started as soon as I install the free version of Malwarebytes and AVG Free, I am not saying for certain that it was related, but I believe that it was. I have since disabled both.

What I did was I googled removal or uninstall whatever the adware name was that seemed associated with the ads. I usually use googlechrome, I wound up using Revo Uninstaller Pro but also on the right side of the top of the screen there is a Customize and control Google Chrome button next to the tool bar and had to reset some defaults.

I can't recall what adware that I was chasing, but if you post the name of what you are seeing and what browser you are using I can do some research.

I had an ad to "pick up hot asian single ladies"

But I noticed I was not signed in anymore, I logged back in, the ads went away.

My page is clean. I delete cookies every couple of days and my browsing history is cleared when I close a web page. I close all pages before going to a different website.
