Re: Where are the Virgins?
Don Garlits has an untouched block in the Ford crate. Give him a call - maybe he will sell it to you.

Re: Where are the Virgins?
I think somewhere I may have some 24 bolt aluminum Canadian "cheater" heads in the original boxes. That's about it.
I would think you'd have to do machine work on even a "virgin" block. |

Re: Where are the Virgins?
Back in 06, I spent a few weeks out in Denver with Paul Garagan (Rumbleseat).
We went all over the place and met abunch of people. At one sgop we met a retired Ford dealer, that restored old Fords. He had more original parts than I could count. Everything including several short blocks. Everything was orginized and that included Rods pistons and crankshafts. Then we went into another shed wit all the bidy parts. I wonder what happened to all that? |

I bought a WWII 99A block for my 32 Cabriolet project. It had been assembled and probably broken in before being put into a crate/box. I bought it and only had the block and pulleys sent to me (didn't want the crank, rods, etc). Anyway, here is a picture of it after I received it - was cleaned, baked and ready to be worked on: BlockStock2 copy.jpg BlockStock1 copy.jpg Here it is after a lot of work: Block1Done copy.jpg MainCaps copy.jpg |

Re: Where are the Virgins?
I'm curious to know if there are any complete NOS unassembled collections anywhere? Possibly on display in a private collection, or a museum. RAY
