Default Original Closed Car Door Insulation

Hello all

I am working on a 31 Tudor mild hot rod, and I would like to omit the interior panels - Leaving the wood, and everything else exposed. On the doors, remnants of some sort of original tar insulation are visible. I would like to strip this and reapply something that is effective and visually similar. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Does anyone know of a source for a similar product that I can reapply?

Roofing patch (can't remember the brand name)available at most hardware stores. You're in for about an hours work with a heat gun and putty knife. Why not just add to what is there?

Farrell has it right...also if I remember right, I got some spray-on deadening material from NAPA a few years ago...used it on my 29 coupe doors.

You might try that bed liner material used on a lot of pickups.
